In March 2026, Project SipSafe liaised with Sister Manjusha, a seasoned clinical nurse from Masina Hospital Trust, Byculla, to organize a health camp at Sukhad Foundation’s Mumbai branch in Mira Road attended by 50 women. This camp focused on conducting diagnostic testing, distributing supplements, and briefing local communities on family protections from water-borne diseases. We were also able to donate 50 sanitary napkin sets to the women there.
Furthermore, the project also collaborated with Dr. Pranjil (a medical officer) from Masina as well, to conduct an expert-led session for women affiliated with Sukhad Foundation. The session covered: why women are uniquely susceptible to water-borne infections like gastroenteritis, typhoid, cholera, hepatitis A & E, and leptospirosis, menstrual hygiene management during monsoon months, early-warning symptoms, the importance of hydration and ORS and when to seek professional care. It also ended with an open Q&A to address community-specific concerns. The goal was to equip women with accurate, actionable health information tailored to their lived realities in Mumbai’s high-risk flood-prone zones.
Between April and May 2026, we also launched the CollectSafe Drive, an online fundraising campaign on Milaap, to raise INR 50,000. The proceeds of which went towards supporting Sukhad Foundation’s ongoing interventions with respect to women’s health (awareness promotion, prevention and aid), alongside partial funding for the health camp and educational printing of some physical copies of the SplashSafe booklet and KnowSafe factsheets (listed under our resources) for wider distribution.
